Any painful condition needs a diagnosis
The first stage is to establish a diagnosis. Your experience of the painful condition can provide some clues as to what is wrong, but quite often it can mislead both the patient and clinician.
A true diagnosis is the observation of tissue changes that are affected by mechanical stress and strain and/or chemical changes.
Once a diagnosis is established then treatment can be specific to the persons needs.
